Salary Range: SAR 2,000 per month (commensurate with skills & hands-on experience)

Overall Objective
Supervise and execute all operational stages of the aluminium profile and fabrication coating process—from chemical pre-treatment and surface cleaning to electrostatic powder spraying and final oven curing. The primary goal is to ensure high-quality adhesion, color accuracy, and a defect-free thermal finish that complies with Saudi industrial standards and factory requirements.
Detailed Responsibilities & Duties
1. Chemical Pre-treatment & Surface Cleaning (Submersion / Washing):
Preparation & Racking: Inspect and rack/hang aluminium profiles and fabrications onto the coating line using proper jigging techniques to ensure chemicals and powder reach all exposed surfaces uniformly.
Chemical Treatment: Oversee degreasing, etching, and desmutting in chemical baths to eliminate oils, lubricants, scale, and surface oxidation.
Conversion Coating (Chromating / Chrome-Free): Manage the chemical conversion coating process to establish an optimal anti-corrosion layer for maximum paint adhesion.
Dry-off Oven: Ensure aluminium pieces are thoroughly dried of all residual moisture in the dry-off furnace prior to powder application.
2. Powder Coating Stage (Electrostatic Application):
Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and set up electrostatic spray guns, adjusting micro-amperage, high voltage, and air pressure based on the powder type (Epoxy, Polyester, Hybrid).
Application Technique: Apply powder coating evenly to achieve the required dry film thickness (DFT in microns) without sagging, pinholes, or heavy buildup.
Color Matching & RAL Codes: Verify color codes (RAL standards) and produce test coupons before launching full batch runs.
3. Thermal Curing Oven Operations:
Temperature & Time Management: Set and monitor curing oven parameters according to technical datasheets (typically between 180°C and 200°C for specified dwell times).
Thermal Process Control: Track conveyor speed or batch entry/exit cycles to ensure complete polymerization without under-baking or color discoloration/over-baking.
4. Quality Control & Inspection:
Testing: Perform film thickness checks using digital thickness gauges and run adhesion tests (e.g., cross-hatch/tape test).
Defect Assessment: Inspect finished aluminium for surface flaws like orange peel, cratering, bubbles, or color variation.
Rework & Touch-ups: Strip and re-process rejected profiles efficiently while minimizing material waste.
5. Equipment Maintenance & Workplace Safety:
Conduct daily cleaning and preventive maintenance on spray guns, powder booths, recovery filters, and oven burners.
Monitor chemical bath concentrations and pH levels in pre-treatment tanks alongside lab/quality staff.
Enforce Occupational Health and Safety rules (proper use of personal protective equipment including respirators, heat-resistant gloves, and safety eyewear).
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of practical experience as a Powder Coating Master/Technician, specifically with aluminium profiles and fabrications.
Technical Skills:
Complete working knowledge of chemical pre-treatment baths and washing chemistry.
Expert control over electrostatic spraying guns and powder flow controls.
Solid understanding of industrial heating/curing ovens and thermal profiles.
Language & Personal Traits:
Basic/Functional English or Arabic for workplace communication.
Strong attention to detail, quality, and output consistency.
Ability to handle physically demanding factory conditions.
